marine vessels

for dt this term we found out in groups the different types of marine designs some of them are:

Types Of marine vessels

Flat bottom boat - These boats are generally less expensive to build and have a shallow draft (the part of the boat that's under the water). They can get up on plane easily but unless the water is very calm they tend to give a rough ride because of the flat bottom pounding on each wave. They also tend to be less stable and require careful balancing of cargo and crew. Examples of flat bottom boats might be Jon boats, small utility boats, and some high speed runabouts.
Vee bottom boat - The vee bottom tends to have a sharper entry into the water which provides for a smoother ride in rough water. They do, however, require more power to achieve the same speed. Many runabouts use the vee-bottom design.
Round bottom boat - These move easily through the water, especially at slow speeds. They do, however, tend to roll unless they are outfitted with a deep keel or stabilizers. Many trawlers, canoes and sailboats have round bottoms.
Multi-hull boat - Catamarans, trimarans, pontoon boats and some house boats use a multi-hull design. The wide stance provides greater stability. Each of the hulls may carry any of the above bottom designs.
our influence on the choice of hull design, material and propulsion.
for our dt project we made our boat on vee bottom. what influenced us to do that was it was easy to do rather than the other ones and we even chose it because of the hull design because we were told that we can only make straight lines and nothing else. so we had to choose one of those above and we chose vee bottom because then it was straight. The material choice was to use fibre glass and nothing else we could choose. That was what we could make it out of. but i liked it because of the different types of color of the fibre glass ours was color green which looked great. so our choice of propulsion was using a motor. we chose that because so that it was be a new model of hull and it would go faster. our idea was to make it a sport boat that is why we chose to put a motor to move our boat.

evaluation.
how i think my performance was at each stage was at the investigate stage we were given three questions and we were three people in our group so we divided our selves and gave each person a question so i did my part in that question. buy i think that i should have wrote more on it. at the designs stage i think that i helped Fidel bit in making the different type of designs. at the plan stage i did the gantt chart and i liked it. and my other group members did the other parts. for the create stage i helped my other group members in the create stage while making the design. for the testing stage my member tested the creation together with me. and it worked it went smoothly in the water and it looked really nice i liked it. My product was successful it worked and it glided smoothly it was really nice.i hope we keep on having these type of creations i really like them.
